Visiting a traditional olive oil mill by convertible
Anyone traveling through Puglia’s Itria Valley is amazed by the sight of whitewashed, cone-roofed trulli, expanses of silvery green olive trees, meadows with bright red poppies in bloom, and the intense green of cornstalks swaying in the breeze.
Our in-depth knowledge of the beauty and traditions of the region of Puglia allowed us to create an authentic countryside itinerary. The morning’s drive behind the wheel of an Italian convertible took us to the iconic towns of Alberobello and Ostuni. After extra virgin olive oil tasting, guests were invited to a picnic in an ancient olive grove. A real village festa, with bales of hay used as tables and a buffet featuring local delicacies.
The dairyman crafts mozzarella the traditional way, mamma prepares orecchiette, father bakes bread. The wine is poured straight from the vat. A fabulous array of fruit and vegetables greets the eyes of onlookers at the open market.
